Robocall From Mayor Pat

Posted November 3rd, 2008 at 11:28 AM by Jeff A. Taylor

Think this is the first one I’ve received from the Mayor.

Urged me to vote for a governor from my area and closed with “the difference is leadership” thing.

I have not received even one robocall during this entire political campaign. Not one.

Meanwhile, my Mom is receiving about 10 a day. She actually listens to them all the way to the end, even the Obama ones, for a couple of reasons: Apparently, some of them let you “vote” at the end. And she figures if she keeps their line occupied for as long as possible, that’s possibly one undecided voter who won’t get a call that convinces them to vote for the Messiah.

We’ve been getting about 10 a week, peaking a couple weeks ago. Also got another one from county commish candidate Susan Walker a few minutes ago, my 3rd or 4th from her.

I’m getting dozens but I am on the OK to survey list I think. I answer every survey call I get because I once had a parttime job asking them.

  4. Tandemfusion Says:

Six so far this morning on the direct line in my office. All six regarding the Hagan-Dole race, but honestly I hang up so fast that I don’t know which way they were about to urge me to vote.

    Gotta a Dole one too.

  6. Papadoc Says:

I don’t have them anymore. Might have been a leftover from last time though when all the calls were human. I’d tell them they were on speakerphone at a Satanic funeral and ask that they give their full name, and either address the coven – - or if they’d prefer – proclaim a guest memorial death hex of their own.

It’s a quick and easy way to get your name off of call lists.
