How Hot is Sarah Palin?

Posted August 29th, 2008 at 11:35 AM by Jeff A. Taylor

jjGlad you asked. So hot that…

  • Bob Dole threw his Viagra away after seeing her on Glenn Beck’s show.
  • Bill Clinton just offered her an internship.
  • Half of all homes in Alaska are heated by her.
  • Palin was once sued by Roy Cooper for contributing to global warming.
  • Her pinned-up hairdo is mandated by the Alaskan Wildlife Commission because when she wears it down, the state’s ice caps melt and polar bears drown.
  • She was banned from Abercrombie & Fitch after making employees feel unattractive while shopping for her kids.

And so on. Finally something fun in national politics.

Update: N&O headline on AP story, McCain taps Alaska governor for VP. Golf clap, Mr. Headline Writer-Man.

I have to give McCain credit. With this one choice, he wounds two birds. As a woman, she will will appeal to the Hillarians. As a somewhat libertarian and prolife governor, she will do much to draw back the disaffected folks who were drifting to Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin. I predict that she won’t be a complete slamdunk in that department, but she might stanch the bleeding of the republican base enough to keep Barr from gaining balance of power.

And she looks a LOT like Tina Fey of 30 Rock: A hot librarian. That’s a huge plus for image-conscious voters.

  6. MrAdobo Says:

That older picture of hers brings me back to the 80’s. She was definitely very pretty. She kind of reminds me of Amanda Bearse from Married With Children. But now, I do see the Tina Fey resemblance. The glasses help a lot to make her look like that actress. She still is very beautiful. She is definitely a… should I go there? What the heck! She is definitely a MILF to me.

At least her nomination has stirred up some excitement in this election. I was getting extremely bored by all of the proceedings up till now.

  7. clayj Says:

If the folks at SNL have a lick of common sense, they will recruit Tina Fey to come back and play Sarah Palin in sketches. I mean, really: She won’t have to do anything except put her hair up.

  8. Suzanne Stallings Says:

Mr. Amnesty/Climate Change McCain will have to do more than pick an excellent VP to win back the majority of the conservative votes!

  9. clayj Says:

Suzanne, that attitude is precisely the sort of thing that will help Obama win in the fall.

To all conservatives out there, I present you a choice: McCain, or Obama. That’s it. There is no “none of the above”. There is no chance of a third choice emerging from nowhere to claim victory. It’s McCain, or it’s Obama. If you sit at home and don’t vote for McCain because you think he’s not conservative enough, then you are basically saying you’re OK with Obama being President. McCain may not be the ideal GOP candidate for many conservatives, but the stark reality is that he is a far, far better choice than Obama. It’s good to have ideals, but in this case pragmatism needs to win out.

Any conservative who says they’re not going to vote for McCain needs a good smack in the mouth. And this is coming from someone who as recently as last year said that McCain has no business being President. It’s McCain, or it’s Obama.

    I vote McCain.

  10. Skyler the Weird Says:

Thing is with McCain in there I see him going along with democrat left wing programs anyway and if they wreck the economy the GOP gets the blame. Obama wins then the same thing happens only its right in their lap. Heck I believe Bush should have had his whole cabinet resign in 2007 not just rummy and then he should have resigned himself and ler Pelosi be in charge the past two years. All the high gas prices and illegals and what have you would be theirs.

  11. H Says:

You go Suzanne. You have conviction, Clay doesn’t.

Is there anyone who doesn’t think Palin is going to get slaughtered by Biden in the debates? This was a ballsy move by the GOP, but it will backfire come November. I’ve said all along Obama in a landslide, and I’m sticking to it.

  12. clayj Says:

H[owie], it seems your attitude is rather defeatist to me.

My #1 goal here is to keep the Democrats out of the White House. 4 years of Obama (God forbid it should be 8) will WRECK this country, permanently, for everyone except those who think leeching off the government and those who are better off than you is something to strive for. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have to take off to New Zealand or Iceland to get away from the People’s Republik of Amerikastan. Our odds of making it as a country are much, much better with McCain in office.

  13. clayj Says:

OK, that was supposed to be an 8 followed by a close parens, not a “cool smiley” face.

  14. DEFuning Says:

OK Values Voters–just who in heavens name is taking care of those five kids (not to mention the youngest with Down Syndrome) while she is off climbing the stairway to The Ovary Office? I mean Oval Office. Really–What was Johnny thinking? He’s a good guy, a much better man than either party is giving him credit for but what in hells bells was he thinking with this Lightweight? The PUMAs will definitely take a pass on her. This was a gross miscalculation. From PTA to City Council (all 120 people in the town)to being Chair of the Oil Lands Commission to the tune of $125,000 per year not because she had any experience or knowledge or expertise–but because she wanted to learn more about oil?? Then on to being governor for a state with fewer people than Mecklenburg County?

I love that she is being touted for keeping a tight budget–in a state absolutely AWASH in oil money. And that she is celebrated for cutting taxes. The pundits fail to note that this is a state with no state income tax or sales tax to cut. It is a whole lot easier to be popular when there is no hard work to be done. She never even broke a nail. She sounds very nice. Please recognize that the word “nice” in its purest form means “foolishly agreeable”.

I am very fond of Johnny and think his wife is getting a raw deal by the press–she is a really good woman who gives a great deal of herself to wonderful causes, which the media passes on with a great big yawn. He is also getting a raw deal about his relationship with Carol. Scoop for you–they barely had time to bond with each other before he deployed to Nam. She was married to a Academy friend of his –all of them major party animals, not uncommon with this level of sky cowboy. Johnny and Carol hooked–he crashed, she crashed and when he returned they were both so broken they could no longer recognize one another. They really never had the time to bond with one another as couples need to so that they can weather extraordinarily tough times.

But choosing Fast Track Barbie is a misstep. And may be the final nail.

  15. H Says:

Clay, I remember the same rhetoric when Bill was about to be elected–GOP were crying that he would wreck the country and communism would rule the land. He turned out to be a very capable president–more so that Bush. It is the Bush administration who has wrecked the country–economically and our reputation in the world. Obama I think will at the very least get us back to even.

McCain is going to get killed by Obama in the debates and Biden is going to eat Palin for lunch. Face it Clay, it will be Obama in November.

  16. Warren C Says:

For more facts on Sarah Palin like the ones Jeff presented, check here: Sarah Palin Facts. Look for a prediction on her performance in the VP debate with Joe Biden.

  17. DEFuning Says:

Warren, that link is not unlike the many “vagina dentata” images hurled against Hillary. So we have discovered ONE thing that unites the Democrats and the Republicans–neither can handle a dame with a sex life, looks and ambition. Cheez whiz, boys-grow up.
