The Second Amendment does not give you a right to carry a concealed weapon. So says the N.C. Court of Appeals. See my story on the ruling here for details.

You are correct. The Second Amendment does not GIVE you ANY rights. Like most of the sections of the Bill of Rights, it GUARANTEES RIGHTS THAT PRE-EXIST ITS DRAFTING.
If you want to know why Republicans are losing wholesale numbers of elections, this abject failure to recognize this most fundamental of Constitutional concepts is a grand place to start.
Allegedly “Conservative” pundits parroting United Nations talking points about government being the grantor rather than the guarantor of liberty. Blech. Blech. Blech. Blech. Blech.

“Nothing herein shall justify the practice of carrying concealed weapons, or prevent the General Assembly from enacting penal statutes against that practice.”
