A Coverage Case in Point

Here’s the story on Asheville’s local tax burden, third-highest in the state after Charlotte and Wilmington. And here is a short piece noting that Hickory also ranked high — sixth out of 29 larger cities — in the new By the Numbers report from the John Locke Foundation.

And the Uptown paper of record story on Charlotte’s top spot in tax burden is…missing. Well, that must be a’cuz of all the…other…local…news. No, only one story in today’s local section that is remotely Charlotte-centric — another huge sewage spill from the rocket scientists at CMUD.

That’s our hell-raising newspaper, alright.
