US Airways has now loaded their 2013 schedule for their summer-seasonal Charlotte-Sacramento: Daily from May 5. This is a frequency increase from 2012.
If the transcon markets are looking good, the second-tier Central America/Caribbean isn’t doing so well. If you look at the US Airways baseline from back in July, you’ll note that the airline was flying four days a week to both Belize and Cozumel. For spring/summer 2013, both destination are back down to weekend only. This highlights the difficult US Airways has had over the past five to eight years in growing their Mexican/Central America/Caribbean operations from Charlotte.
During US Airways’ quarterly earnings conference call, the airline said it was adding a flight to Europe, with the implication being it would be an Airbus A330-200. Well, the has just added a new summer seasonal European flight: Shannon, Ireland from Philadelphia on a Boeing 757. Note completely sure that this is what US Airways management was referring to. No sign so of the five A330-200s is getting next year in the airline’s timetables.Read full article » Comments Off
